Sign language is not part of the main course that registered nurses undertake. When ever there is a patient who cannot speak, The MOH employs sign language specialist in most hospitals to help the communication of the deaf and dumb. it is not mandatory for nurses to know sign languages but it will give you an advantage if you know sign language over someone who does not
