George,
The police do not have a fixed number for recruiting per year. Sometimes they recruit between 1000 -2000 per year as they did in 2010. Other times they recruit about 500 - 1000. When the applications forms are released, applicants are mostly accepted throughout the country. THEY DO NOT PLACE A LOT OF EMPHASIS ON REGIONS BECAUSE AFTER TRAINING, YOU CAN BE DEPLOYED ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY. George, your qualifications are perfect the security services especially the army. Even though i do not know you face to face, i can tell that you will be a perfect soldier in any of the armed forces. In my opinion, you can apply to both the police and the army. The ghana armed forces recruitment starts in the first 3 months of every year, that is from janaury to march. This year, the armed forces forms are not yet out. When the police start their recruitment, they conduct recruitment in 3 batches ( february - march or april - may or August september) this are the months the police usually recruits. Currently the police havent started recruitment yet.

The requirements for the security services are very similar. For the police, you just need either an ssce certificate , a wassce certificate, diploma, or any vocational certificate.

The army's requirements are quite different but you qualify for that too.Read the full requirement below.
