Does reading the Bible make one a Christian, no matter what their lifestyle is? No, not at all. Parents, or the "Church" could force a child to read the Bible......but unless that child truly believes in what he/she reads; it might as well be a dictionary for all the impact on the child. In the interests of being more aware, I might choose to read an English copy of the Qu'ran - by reading it, does it mean that I AM a Muslim?
Matt 7:21 New International Version (©1984) "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."
But then, there are also these verses:
Romans 10:9-13 " That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”e 12For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
I guess that we must each ask God to reveal what is right.......
Peace Truth and Love.....:)
