When I did unscrew 7 screws and 3 additional from under the screen there is still something holding it together from the center. Can't find the problem.

2) How to know if power needs to be changed (I suspect it blew up) and how to do that?

Got the puter from a friend who described as if something blew up. It is dusty and small, the friend had no mercy on a thing. So, I am just playing with it. But if it is possible to fix it on my own I would be most excited! :)

I've just had this problem but managed to solve it.

Unscrew all the screws on the underneath, where the arrows indicate.

Then, to remove the screw in the centre of the laptop that's holding it all together, hold down the Escape and F1 key and you will see a small clip holing the keyboard down, put a screwdriver in there and push the clip back. Do the same for the clips behind the F5, F12 and Insert key.

Once you do that the keyboard will slide down and out and you can get to the last screw. Unscrew that and you can take off the top of the laptop.

When taking it apart you will detach the 2 ribbon cables from the motherboard. Take not of where these came from so you can put them back later.

My problem was that the HDD cable has popped out, giving me a n error on booting of 'Operating System Not Found'.

Problem now resolved.
