Below are the requirements
BACHELOR’S DEGREE PROGRAMMES
- WASSCE/SSSCE Certificate Holders
Eligible applicants must possess credit passes in three (3) core subjects including Core Mathematics and English, and three (3) elective subjects in the WASSCE (with Aggregate score of not more than 36) or SSSCE (with Aggregate score of not more than 24).
a) A credit pass or better in Elective Mathematics is also required of all applicants seeking admission to the B.Sc Mathematics and Statistics, and Economics and Statistics programmes.
b) Applicants to the English Studies programme are required to have a credit pass or better in English Literature.
SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL LEAVERS WHO WROTE THE WASSCE EXAMINATIONS IN APRIL/MAY, 2012, CAN ALSO APPLY WITHOUT WAITING FOR THEIR RESULTS. APPLICANTS MUST STATE THEIR EXAMINATION CENTRES AND INDEX NUMBERS ON THE APPLICATION FORM.
The WAEC equivalent of the WASSCE/SSSCE grading system has been adopted. This is shown in the table.
Higher National Diploma Holders
HND holders from recognized institutions must have six (6) credit passes in SSSCE/WASSCE subjects, three (3) core subjects including Mathematics, English and Science and three (3) elective subjects.
G.C.E. Ordinary and Advanced Level Certificate Holders
Credit Passes in at least Five (5) subjects (including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject) in the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) G.C.E. ‘O’ Level and School Certificate Examinations, and Three (3) passes at the Advanced Level of the G.C.E, one of which should be a ‘D’ or better. Two ‘A’ Level passes at Grade ‘C’ or better will also be accepted. A pass in General Paper must also be obtained.
Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) Certificate Holders
Passes in three (3) subjects in the Advanced Business Certificate Examination (at least, one of the passes should be a Grade D or better), plus five (5) credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies in the General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE).
All other applicants must have six (6) credit passes in SSSCE/WASSCE subjects, three (3) core subjects including Mathematics, English and Science and three (3) elective subjects.
i. DBS or Diploma from any recognized institution
ii. RSA Stage II & III
iii. Post–Secondary Teacher Training Certificate from a recognized institution
iv.. Diplomas from recognized Universities
v. Professional Certificates from recognized professional bodies
vi. Association of Business Executives (A.B.E)
- Mature Applicants
Persons applying for admission to Bachelor’s degree programmes who have attained the age of twenty-seven (27) or more, but who do not fully satisfy the above requirements will be classified as Mature Candidates. Such applicants must have reasonable education and working experience. All Mature Applicants will be required to write the Mature Candidates Entrance Examination. Admission of applicants in this category will depend basically on their performance in the Entrance Examination.
