All applications are to be strictly completed online by logging on admissions.upsa.edu.gh using

On line Serial Numbers (OSN). Please note that a change of programme after the submission

of the application would not be possible.

Online Serial Numbers (OSN) for the University of Professional Studies, Accra are available for

purchase at the cost of GH¢180.00 for Ghanaian applicants and US$80.00 for International Applicants at the following sales points:

(a ) Any branch o f Ecobank or Access Bank

(b) By MTN mobile money services

(c) All Post Ofces country -wide


SUBMISSION OF SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

Completed application forms should be sent by EMS and NOT by hand delivery. All applicants must submit the following using an A-4 manila envelope:

  • A printed-out and endorsed Declaration Slip
  • Certied copies of all certicates
  • Original transcript(s) of academic records (applicable to University Diploma & HND applicants only)
  • Birth certicate

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR VARIOUS LEVELS OF UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

(i) LEVEL 100

West African Senior School Certicate Examination (WASSCE) & Senior Secondary School Certicate Examination (SSSCE) / General Business Certicate of Examination (GBCE) Applicants

WASSCE and SSSCE /GBCE applicants must have at least credit passes(i.e. grade A 1 -C6 and grade A-D respectively) in three core subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science /Social Studies in addition to any three elective subjects with an aggregate score of 24 or better.

Note 1: Applicants for level 100 undergraduate programmes, who will be writing WASSCE in May /June 2015, are also eligible to apply. They will be required to indicate their index numbers and the subjects they will be writing on the on line application form.

(ii)LEVEL 200

Category A

General Certicate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level Holders:

Passes in any three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be grade D or better) at the GCE A dvance dLevel plus a pass in General Paper. In addition, the ap plicant must have had credit passes (Grade 6) or better in ve (5) subjects includ ing English Language, Mathematics and any Science Subject at the G C E Ordinary (‘O’) Level.

Category B

Advanced Business Certicate Examinatio ns (ABCE)Holders:

Full diploma certicate (passes in any ve (5) subjects at the ABCE level and at least two of the passes should be grade D or better.) In addition, the applicant must have had credit p asses in ve (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or social studies in the  WASSCE.

Category C

Post Secondary Teacher’s Certicate ‘A’/Diploma in Education Certificate awarded by the University of Cape Coast.

Category D

Recognized Professional Qualications:

At least complete Level One (1 ) of any of the following recognized professional qualications: ICSA, CIM, CIMA, ACCA, ICAG and CIB only.

Category E

Higher National Diploma (HN D) with at most Second Class (Lower Division) awarded by NABPTEX in disciplines relevant to the programmes being offered by the University (i.e. Accounting, Secretaryship & Management Studies, Purchasing & Supply, Marketing, Statistics, etc). In addition, the applicant must have acquired a -2 year post HND qualication working experience.

Category F

Applicants in possession of university /tertiary diploma with a Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of at most 2.99 from any university/institution accredited by Nat ional Accreditation Board (NAB ) in

programmes relevant to the courses being offered by the University

Note 2: A pplicants who qualify under Cate gories C ,, D, E a nd F must, in addition have GCE, WASSCE/SSSCE/GBCE credit passes  in three (3) core subjects and two (2) electives subjects or credit passes in ve (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics and and Science subject at the ‘ O’ Level.

Category A

Category B
University / tertiary diploma applicants with FGPA of 3.0 in related programmes (i.e. Accounting Public Administration, Management and marketing from any u niversity accredited by the NAB.

Category C
Applicants with at least complete level two (2) of any of the following recognized professional qualications: ICSA, CIM, CIMA, ACCA, ICAG and CIB only

Note 3 : Applicants who qualify under Categories A, B and C must, in addition have WASSCE/SSSCE/GBCE credit passes in three (3) core subjects and two (2) electives subjects or credit passes in ve (5) subjects including mathematics, english and any science subject at the GCE ‘O’ Level.

(iv) Mature Applicants
Mature Applicants applying for admission must satisfy the following entry requirements : Attained a minimum age of twenty- ve (25) years by Tuesday, 1st September, 2015.
Show proof of age with birth certicate which is at least 5 years old at the time of application.
Must have at least three (3) years work experience and should be able to provide a letter of appointment from their employer or show an y proof of employment.
Must possess at least credit passes in ve (5) GCE ‘ O’ Level subject including English Language and Mathematics or in the case of WASSCE or SSSCE/GBC E holder s , at leas t grade C6 or grade D respectively in ve (5) subject s including English Language and Mathematics.
Must pass the Mature Students’ Entrance Examination General Paper and selection interview
Applicants with WASSCE grade D7/ E8 or SSSCE /GBCE grade E or GCE ‘O’ Level grade 7/8 in English Language and Mathematics may apply but their admission would be subject to their having passed the university mature special english and Special Mathematics papers in addition to General Paper and selection interview.
Note 4: Successful mature applicants would be placed at Level 100.
Applicants with essential abilities may however be admitted to Level 200 depending on their entry qualifications, outstanding performance at the mature exams and selection interview as well as demonstrable potential to cope with academic work at level 200

A DMISSION REQUIREMENT SFOR DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
Category A

G.C.E. Advanced Level
Passes in any two (2) subjects at the GCE ‘A’ Level plus
a pass in General Paper. In addition, the applicant must have had credit passes (at least Grade 6) in ve (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics and any Science
Subject at the GCE ‘O’ Level.

3. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
International applicants may be admitted on the basis of qualifications from their home countries for which equivalence shall be determined by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) of Ghana and submitted to the University. Evidence of prociency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries. International applicants are also requested  to acquire Non-Citizen Ghanacard
as a pre-requisite for offer of admission. International applicants who fail to provide
evidence of having acquired this card will not have their application processed.
